Cali Machen

Meet Cali!

Cali is a primary midwife under supervision and Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula located in Philadelphia, PA. She grew up in Boulder, CO and has a background in early childhood education. She has a Bachelors degree in holistic health and psychology and is trained in the Fertility Awareness Method of ovulation tracking. She also has a 200-hour Yoga Teacher certification and is trained in Pelvic Dynamics and hypno-birthing. She is the owner of Ovum Doula Care, and has been taking birth clients in all settings for 6 years.

Cali's mission is to encourage bodily autonomy, body literacy, and educated consent in all birth settings. She is currently in her final year of school at Midwives College of Utah, studying to become a Certified Professional Midwife specializing in out of hospital birth. She has been apprenticing with Magpi Midwifery since 2024.

When not at births she enjoys reading, practicing yoga, spinning wool and knitting, pottery, hiking, and cooking.
